Copy directors!!!

Why have the music directors gone crazy?? It's a long standing unanswered question, "why are music directors copying songs from others??"... The best effort answer, if any, from music directors are.. "I got impressed by that piece of music!!!".. Hmmm.. The worst of all.. This small piece of music becomes the BGM for the whole song which finally becomes a hit.. Following are some of my analysis from recently heard copy songs...

Lets start with my fav.. A.R. Rahman.. Rahman used to copy.. I agree.. But then.. He is not like others.. He wont have the same piece repeated without any change like Deva or Yuvi...

Harris Jayaraj!!! The second best who tries to make music by adding all sorts of loopy music in his songs.. Finally.. Becomes a hit!! I really cant understand why he uses so many instruments for a simple song.. ARR should be praised for this.. He restricts himself to a max of 4 or 5 for all his songs..

And the recent one.. Everyone would have heard ARR's "Munbe Vaa" (is there anyone left without hearing this divine music???) and.. Recent release of Harris from Unnaale Unnaale has the song, "Mudhal Naal".. If u hear the starting of both the songs.. They really sound the same.. I dont know whether they were accidentally composed so by both.. Or.. They were accidentally copied by both from same source!!!!

And... If u hear "Lukka Chuppi" from RDB and "Vellai Pookkal" from Kannathil Muthamittal.. Same instrument.. Similar chords.. ARR, though sounds similar, its different and were composed at different times!!! But... the previous comparison.. Haiyo!!! Unbelievable!!!

But few more about ARR on his own copies.. It's very well known to everyone that ARR used the BGM of "Telephone Manippol" of Indian in Roja itself... And the latest one like this.. If u cud remember the BGM in Sillunu Oru Kaadhal during the Telephone scene where Bhoomi makes chanceless expressions, u cud identify "Kulichcha Kuththaalam" song from Duet.. But.. Are these termed to be copies as he has used his own music???

Next.. Thalaivar(?) Yuvi!!!! U dont need to ask about him!!! All his hit songs are mere copies of something else.. Mostly from spanish and french!!! Hmmm.. His song, "Oru naalil!!" from "kuppai"pudhupettai!!! He havent added anything to the base spanish song!!! The remix song is his addition of different instruments over it!!! And.. The worst of all.. He has copied his own father's song in Kaadhal Kondaen.. One of the BGM has Ilayaraja's one of the best compositions!!!

And.. I happened to see one fight scene in "Kizhakku kadarkarai saalai!!" (ECR.. tamil form!!!).. Its BGM had nothing but Navras music from Matrix without any change in music!!! I dont think the music director even had mind to recompose it.. Think he directly added that song to "Uhaa.. Ihaa..." sounds of fight scene for his BGM in his comp!!! Kudos to the (dunno-his-name) music director!!!

Why r these people like this??? Cant they make any good music without any copy??? Are they paid only for copying???

(Note: ARR is something really great!! Though he gets impressed by something.. He uses it only here and there.. Also.. The latest update.. His 3 songs.. "Khalbali", "Lukka Chuppi" from RDB and one song from Water have been nominated for Oscar awards under original music category!!!! )

Update: In para 4.. It's not 'Munbe Vaa' but 'Newyork Nagaram'. 'Munbe Vaa' also has similar chords at its start!! But 'Mudhal Naal' is a copy from 'Newyork Nagaram'.

Need a nail cutter??

Kurukshetra Again!

Yet another poster for Kurushetra to be sent all over India for external publicity!! Searched a lot for the background image.. Finally ended up with the same 'Bitzkrieg' image!! Spent some 4 hrs for this poster.. Finally things came out well with a sprain in hand!!!

Agni

Anna University's intra college culturals has successfully started today with 'Sillunu Oru Kaadhal'!! My poster for Agni had a different thought.. Started working at it with fire and flames.. Finally ended up with a calendar to note down the schedule!! The best thing i like in this poster is the '* restrictions apply [;)] ' .. Jus to inform people not to be too happy to watch it as it may have to cross many censor boards before getting screened!!! Luckily nothing got censored today!!

Kurushetra!!

Atlast i started working for Kurukshetra!! This is the first poster i designed for it.. Someone came with a different idea.. I accepted the job of realising his thoughts.. luckily it came out well!! Well.. A lot more to go in the months to come for this event!! Hopefully i meet everyone's expectations in my college..

I still cant believe that i got one.. My aim was to get short listed.. Ultimately i got placed.. Hmmm.. Now i realise.. I too have some luck!!

A Series of Unfortunate Events!!

After a long time.. got some time to scribble something here.. Actually was sincerely preparing for my dream job.. But.. 3 year dream is still a dream!!! Lost Microsoft for no reason.. Did the written too well.. All bugless coding.. My month long preparation helped me a lot.. But.. wasn't shortlisted.. I took long for me to figure out that MS ppl were keen in shortlisting ppl who dint code or who doesnt know to code.. All those studs who jus wrote the algo or who dint write anything or who wrote bugless code got selected!!! My fate rulez...

Then.. 2 days back.. I lost my mobile.. My sexy mobile.. My sole companion.. Lost it in a fraction of second. Actually i was tooo tired and had a nap for 10 mins keeping my room door open ( as always.. ) . Within that 10 min time someone flicked my mobile.. Had some 200 contacts.. 30 ringotnes.. 10 nice messages.. sweet and bitter memories.. everything lost.. hmmm... Still fate is playing...

Today.. tried registering for PeP 2007... But cudnt... 404 Error for me alone.. Others cud register though!!! Fate continues..

17th July ... Lost Microsoft!!
19th July ... Lost Mobile!!
21th July ... Cudn't register for PeP 2007!!!

Hmmm.. How lucky i am!!! I've started smiling at these rather crying.. I've started laughing a lot on seeing me in the mirror!!!

Error : The word 'selected' in the para regarding MS interview refers to 'shortlisting' for first few rounds and not the final selection. The finally selected ppl are extremely good coders. But the thing is, few more coders lost their chance of getting into MS to those who didnt do well.

My first salary!!

Today is very special!! Not only because the date is
20.06.2006..

But also i got my first salary in my life!! Rs. 1613 for 10 days of working in Flextronics. Though the amount is meagre, earning something by working is great according to me.. Am too happy today!!!

Also my friend Shyam got placed in CTS!! Too happy for him tooo... Think CTS is gonna start a city for its employees!! He took some 572 from our college alone.. Infy too rocked as well with 596 two days back!!

Atlast.. One of my dreams came true today!! Infosys is (un)lucky to take me.. yeah!! I got placed in INFOSYS!! And from now on, i'm an INFOSCION!! A very very easy written.. Followed by a really arguing toooo coool, so called, interview!! Atlast.. i'm there in the audi.. among some 596 students!! Such a precious moment in life.. Seeing all my frnz be with me there in the audi!!

And the most happiest thing!!! My Best Friend SAKTHI too got selected with me!!! Am too happy now!!! I thank all my family members, frnz, seniors, relatives for making me achieve this!! Esp. my friend (and others' placement rep) VARUN!!!

So its jus... "Powered by ME!! Driven by VARUN!!"

And atlast.. It Works!!!

Atlast.. It works!! The registration for our campus placements started today!! My sem long work in designing a proper query engine handling thousands of records will be put to test within a week.. Hope everything works well!!

I still remember the days.. No sleepless nights.. spent in designing/coding this!! How many fights.. How many misunderstandings between me and Siddaarth.. How he made Varun to speak to me so tat i complete it.. ( I did this just for the sake of Varun!!) How many testings... How many bug corrections.. (the last one some 2 days back..!!). How many editings... How many innovations.. How many requirements.. I still cant forget them!! But those sleepless nights.. Feel they were nothing when i feel my work is going to be put to work to sort some 4000 odd records.. This is gonna sort and list them for the companies!! As Siddaarth says.. "Life of 4000 people is in this software's hands!!" .. oops! Not hands.. but codes!!!

Liar Liar

Cellphone has become a part of everyone's life today. Life without cellphones is much artificial nowadays. And saying lies in cellphones is a part of the fun that the technology offers us!!
But, the same habit, if it cultivates while speaking over landlines? A big comedy would surely happen...

Tat day i was supposed to go to Collector's office (ennatha thaan kazhattuvaaro theriyalai .. ;)) to apply for my Passport.. My friend who had applied for it said that he'll accompany me to help me! He asked me to start by 9'o clock so that i can pick him up in his house and get there by 9.30..

As planned he got ready at 9.00. But i dint get ready till 9.30!! It purposely delayed getting ready for he used to make me wait for long... !! I got a call from him atlast... He asked me where i was.. I spontaneously replied that i was riding my bike and will reach him in another 10 minutes! His sudden reply, "Oh! U in bike?? Tat's why u r attending the call from ur LANDLINE-a??" ... What else can i say to him then??

Why am i like this???

"Why do u hate girls?? Did they do any harm for u?? Or r u a male-chauvanist??" .. This is wat is the question tat many ppl ask me!! Ah.. got some time to answer them... Am not a male-chauvanist!! To me men and women are equal. So the reason can only be the first one! Yes, they had hurt me a lot!!

To start, my school taught me jus one thing.. Hate girls!! This is was the only lesson we guys there studied for 14 years! A co-ed school which was tooooooo partial towards girls. And this made a lot of effect on me during 8th to 10th. There was a girl in my class. How bad she wrote the paper or how good i wrote it, it was she who topped the class!! It started then.. Not to get close to girls.. A ques wud arise.. "It was the teachers who were partial.. not the girls!! Then why?? " .. True.. Teachers were partial. But wont these girls who moved toooo close to them tell them not to be partial?? This was the start for everything.. Tat lead to this state of mine tat i'm today!!!

Next, during my twelfth, i got close to a girl.. a senior who helped me a lot.. a lot more than anybody else cud do.. She helped me as a caring sister wud do!! The result, after my 12th results, she stopped speaking to me!! (I cant tell d reason for its tooooo silly and wud speak bad of her..) It's 3 yrs since she spoke a word to me!!! I treated her as my own sister.. But, she had treated me only as a student!! And even my teachers do remember me even today.. not she!! The second incident which made me really cry for years and years in my life!! (still i'm crying to get her as my sister back.. hmmm.. tat wud not happen in life hereafter!!)

Third.. In coll, i hardly spoke to any girl becoz of tat sister(?)'s incident in my life.. there entered again a girl in my life.. we started becoming frnds! yes.. we became frnds!! then got to know how cunning she was!! Cunning brain made me lose her.. (and also certain pressure...!!) I still remember d days i teased her, quarreled with her.. hmmm.. life is tooo bleak for me....

Then... after a looooong time, i got introduced to a senior... no a friend.. not exactly.. a sister.. ya! a sister!!! Got tooooooooo close! Close for some one and a half years... Then there came an IV.. She got a new frnd!! Attn diverted towards him.. I dont say thats wrong.. I say i was lacked attn!!! There came a lot of quarrels due to tat new frnd!!! Tat was so powerful to break our rel even... She cut down messaging me a lot... a lot.. Stopped attending my calls!! Toooo bad... Wat can i think of girls then if d second sister i got was/is also like this??

At last (as of now)... Meanwhile, in my coll, i started admiring a flower (can i call it so.. r even better?? mmmm... mmm... i cudnt think of anything better than this.. (Courtesy: Fred!!) ).. I always dreamt of getting close to it.. But now i feel i shud hv stayed away from it and admired it.. It took a lot of time for her.. tat flower.. to treat me as a frnd!! She said that though i'm close to her as her frnds, i'm a junior than a frnd to her.. Ha ha ha.. sounds funny?? But this is wat she told.. How can i judge girls if they move d same way with ppl and rate them differently?? (Latest update: a lot of misunderstandings has started... with her!!!)

With all these incidents, how can i like girls?? U may ask, "With just 5 girls in ur life, how can u say tat girls are bad??"... Man.. I jus know 5 girls.. no! some 6 or 7 to be exact!! Out of 7, 5 are bad.. So atmost 70% are bad!! Wat else can i think if this is d case???????

P.S: I got an idea of expressing this after reading my frnds blog where he has proposed to 3 girls on a similar style!! Thanks Fred!!!

Update: With my best friend's permission i add this!! I started losing my best frnd, who is known for his 'silence', becoz of a girl.. After her intro into his life, he started moving away from his frnds.. started involving in bad habits when opposition came from all corners.. parted from me.. left me all alone in this world!!! If u say tat it was his mistake, i wud argue, it was because of her intervention in his life he got worse!!!

Numero Deux

The number 2 has played a major part in my life! that 2 during my 12th std!

* To start, my section got changed when i entered into 12th from section C to E (jus 2 letters..).
* During the whole of my school life, i just came out as topper only 2ce. During quaterly and half-yearly of 12th.
* And my name was misprinted as Sairam in the nominal roll for public exam. The 2nd letter was changed my mistake. i had to apply for it 2ce to get it changed to Sriram.
* I lost the highly acknowleged position, the school topper, just by 2 marks. My school topper just beat me by a single mark. Had i got 2 marks, i wud hv been the topper. This was the 2nd time i came out as school 2nd!!
* And there were 2 second rank holders of which i was one!
* And i beat my best friend by jus 2 marks!
* Also the total had only one 2. (1162) .. !!
* I got only 2 centums... And school 2nd in 2 other subjects!!
* The english topper was just one mark more than me. had i got 2 marks, i wud hv been a topper in english 2.
* And, i'd been the topper of french and comp sci (2 subjects) always throughout the year. And only those 2 subjects brought me down finally.. :( !!!
* And in the entrance exam, the total of my reg no was also 2!
* I came out as the 2nd in engg cut-off in madurai !!
* I reached chennai after a span of 2 yrs for attending the counselling on july 2nd...
* I was the 2nd person to choose a different group other than ECE during d first session of first day!!
* And i coll, i became dept topper only once, tat 2 in 2nd sem!!

ufff.. 2.. wat 2 do with this 2??? 2 horrible... had 1 played a major part, i wud hv been 1st in things ... ;-) ???!!!!

Mother's day special

So we children, lets try to make our mom happy atleast today!! Cook food, fight with dad without any mediator, settle long pending issues... (atleast to bear a part of her pain for a single day... !!)

aBaCUS '06 Poster

aBaCUS '06 's poster... "Ithanaal arivikka paduvathu ennavendraal.. " aBacUS got over yaar! Still to invite people?? This poster with all usual trademarks/copyrights of me and Varun came out really well!! For example, those very small aBaCUS in the middle forming a band at the background...

Ah.. when i say background, i remember how the base canvas was developed!! It's a mixture of some 3 digital pictures!! Somewhere i got those balls in the left side of the poster... Jus added them!! Some web kind of thing from another picture.. and the base blue from the third!!

And that "highlighting thoughts ... " ... Actually myself and Varun where trying hard to get something for caption. We were in search of a comp sci word related to highlighting... ipch.. couldnt get anything better!!

aBaCUS '06 Font

aBaCUS '06 's Font!! Bringing down the legacy of small 'a' s... ( Small a's in aBaCUS.. tat's a secret!!) .

As mine and Varun's creations will have a lot of implications, this too has... Can u figure out a small patch in 'B' with light grey shade?? Hide that and see the letter 'B'... wat do u see?? Something like 16 ?? (i know u hardly could !!) .. Tat's just to denote that this was designed for 16th year of aBaCUS!! Hope the new year's font has 17 in a way that could be easily deciphered !!

And the orange (fanta) color.. Jus to attract attention towards it!! Not as a dedication to Simran ;) !!

aBaCUS '06 Logo

Ah.. Here comes aBaCUS '06, the uncrowned king of symposiums, 's logo!!!

This represents a table lamp, highlighting a aBaCUS bead/ball (one of my seniors perception - highlighting a brain) ... Can u find anything more on the lamp base?? Ya.. rite!! CS written as a scribbling!

( Still remembering the days spent during the class hours doodling to get this logo... This just started as a table lamp highlighting a ball! Then changed to this form finally when myself and Varun where discussing on modifying it during a seminar!! )

Peculiar date

Bitzkrieg

Ah.. Here comes the final one. This poster made me learn Photoshop very deeply. Jus becoz there was a lot of expectations for the final poster. Thank God! It came out well. Here too inferences.. But this time everyone understood it. That CSE is red color made ppl understand tat it's from Computer Science Department! And those very small 'Freshers party' too caught attention! 'BITZKRIEG' was the result of combining the famous Blitzkrieg (lightning attack) with bits (for computers)! And that Thursday.. oops.. 'thirst' day served the purpose effectively (credits to Varun!).

And the story of 'The inCredibleS' and 'Finding Nemo'.. This had its incarnation here when someone shouted from the group while dicussing. Actually this poster was more a collective work than a single man's. Everyone contributed a new idea. I merely implemented it.

Setting up ICONS...

The next good one was this! This poster informed our progress in hosting the party. I really worked hard for it. Setting up ICONS..' denoted that we are nearing the D day. Actually this was planned to be pasted all over the University one week before the event! Again inferences... The CSE logo was too clear for everyone to understand! But.. ipch.. nothing came out jus becoz that red color did not come out well in the print. :(

Loading...

This is the first poster I designed for Bitzkrieg.. Fresher's party! It really came out well. Got a good reputation. The idea of adding the word 'Loading...' got stuck somehow! This was jus to inform everyone that we ppl are going to host a Freshers party. It had more to infer than to say explicitly. Like the words.. Loading, binary @ttack .. This one started my career as a poster designer and is still continuing....

Hi ppl, this is Sriram,a new pixel entering the blogging community. I'm doing my Third year (oops.. jus now my end sem got over, so FY) B.E. Computer Science and Engineering at College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, India. I'm basically from Madurai (thambi.. inga paechukkellaam idam illai.. orey veechu thaan!! jaakkirathai!!) .

Birth and Schooling

June 25.. Important day for India! I don't mean the day when Kapil Dev and his team won India's one and only world cup. It was the day this friendly, funny (mokkai.. at times), hard working( but hardly working), sincere and also lethargic, lazy, sluggish, procrastinating guy entered this world.

Then this 'Ram' had his 'vana vaasam' for 14 years at S.B.O.A. Mat. Hr. Sec. School. Got some recognition for my michievous behavior there. Then entered this college 3 years back and heading towards the final year...

Principles

I live by Kal Ho Na Ho's principle, "Aaj kaeliye Jiyo! Kush Ho! Mushkurao!! kya pathaa.. Kal Ho Na Ho". Yes, I live for the moment to the maximum happiest extent possible.

Relationships are easy too easy to build.. but too hard to preserve!! This is what life has taught me so far. I value relationships a lot. Be it love or friendship! I care for my friends a lot, do them what they say, ask, need, ... It's really a great feeling to know that there's someone caring for us! But this happens only when we care for others?!

Girls.. No comments. (am a bit misogynist! i don't say girls are bad.. they are really too good to resist.. i say i hate girls!!)

Passions

I like programming a lot! As my friend has once quoted, "Aal paathi.. Comp paathi.." is the best way to describe me. I used to sit and explore each and every software a lot.

I have a deep passion for Multimedia designing. I've designed a lot of posters, logos, fonts... I used to spend my time by doing a lot of researches with Flash and Photoshop. That made me do all those stuffs. My designs have won several competitions. Myself and Varun (my close friends) are being known in our college only because of this...

I do pencil sketching. I used to spend my boring class hours effectively by this. To be particular, they are jus doodles. Hardly one or two clicks which finally enters my comp as a new logo or font or ...
